Facing south: Our two hives will sit on a frame built with 2"x 6"s and placed on the four patio-pavers mid-foreground. Sumac and evergreens shelter from the west; a barn on the north; trees on the east. Foreground (where in summer 2008 we grew--and hand-pollinated!--Hallowe'en pumpkins) is sown with white sweet clover.
