Spotted!
Spotted: A pair of bee hives, each consisting of two deep supers, still clad in their winter-black, facing east at the top of a bank on the west side of Highway #52, south of the rail-trail. According to Google Maps, this is two miles ("as the bee flies") from our hive site.
Bestiarius (Bestiary of Ann Walsh), England, 15th century, written in Latin on parchment, 77 folios, height 21 cm, width 13.5 cm, at the Kongelige Bibliotek, Copenhagen, Denmark (Kongelige Bibliotek, Gl. kgl. S. 1633 4º, Folio 47r).
