Removed duct tape from inside the hives
Today, we removed the duct tape on the outside tops of the frames; the tape had been placed there so they wouldn't shift during the journey on Friday. (We didn't open the hives here on Friday, thinking the bees had had enough stress for one day.) The bees in both hives have eaten a small quantity of syrup from the top feeders; the Bradley-hive (yellow screen bottom and entrance) is stronger and accordingly had built a small quantity of burr-comb to make up for the frames sliding a bit; we removed this. No comb raised on the new foundations.
