Here are the 18 frames extracted on Monday, now scrupulously cleaned by the bees and taken into the house yesterday evening after the bees retired into their hives. (Last night, great numbers protected the remaining honey in the frames.) At first glance, it looks tidier to remove the foundations and melt these down for candles--start fresh with new foundation next year. But a closer look reveals substantial work and a beautiful organization. The frames are so clean that we can store them in an upstairs closet in their supers.

Scrupulously clean!
Here are the 18 frames extracted on Monday, now scrupulously cleaned by the bees and taken into the house yesterday evening after the bees retired into their hives.
